Call for BPAN research grant applications
This year, the Million Dollar Bike Ride 2021, the charity bike race of the Orphan Disease Center of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in the USA, was again held virtually. Its purpose is to raise funds for rare disease research, which this year was represented by 52 organisations.
The goal of the Million Dollar Bike Ride was to reach a fundraising total of between US$ 20,000 and US$ 30,000 by the end of June 2021 with all participants. The University of Pennsylvania, through raised sponsorships, matches any amount raised within this range. This goal was achieved again this year for the disease NBIA/BPAN, which is represented by the US patient organisation NBIA Disorders Association (NBIA DA). With its contribution of US$ 5,000, Team BPAN Germany clearly exceeded last year’s result. Team BPAN Germany would like to thank all supporters for their participation in this campaign.
We are pleased to announce that a research grant of US$ 66,366 has now been announced for research on BPAN. Researchers from all over the world can apply here until 16 September 2021.
