Cycling for BPAN – Million Dollar Bike Ride 2021

It’s that time again: The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is hosting the Million Dollar Bike Ride (MDBR) for the eighth time until 12 June 2021.

It’s that time again: The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is hosting the Million Dollar Bike Ride (MDBR) for the eighth time until 12 June 2021. Due to the pandemic, this charity bike race will once again take place not only in the USA, but virtually all over the world! This gives us in Germany the chance to be part of it again as “Team BPAN Germany”. Be it just by collecting donations or by actually cycling along, having fun and at the same time by taking photos to raise awareness for NBIA and especially BPAN.

This year, more than 40 different organisations are participating, and the NBIA variant BPAN will again be represented by our partner organisation NBIA Disorders Association (NBIA DA) in the USA.

The interesting thing about the MDBR is that if the amount raised is between US$ 20,000 and 30,000, it is matched by the University of Pennsylvania. Last year, a research grant for BPAN amounting to US$ 71,471 was awarded to the University of Groningen (Netherlands). Our goal is to exceed the US$ 20,000 mark again in 2021 together with the NBIA DA to initiate another new research project!

Cycle with Millys Mission and Hoffnungsbaum e.V. in “Team BPAN Germany” to raise awareness and funds for BPAN. You do not have to register separately due to the cooperation between Hoffnungsbaum and NBIA DA. If you like, you can transfer the otherwise obligatory registration fee (EUR 35.00) or more directly as a donation. Encourage people around you to join in.

Post photos and videos on social media. Show our Team BPAN Germany poster in photos or videos. This way, the organisers know where people are all riding. In the posts, please tag the MDBR accounts and use the appropriate hashtags.

Please send donations directly to the account of:

Hoffnungsbaum will then transfer them collectively to the partner organisation NBIA Disorders Association (NBIA DA). We are very confident that with your support and together with Hoffnungsbaum and the NBIA DA, we will again exceed the mark of US$ 20,000 and reach a doubling of the donation amount.
